Words of welcome

On behalf of the European Hematology Association, we would very much like to invite you to the 16th Congress of EHA in London, from June 9-12, 2011.

The EHA congresses present the latest scientific and clinical research in all aspects of hematology, as well as ‘state of the art’ Education Sessions for clinicians and hematologists in training. Oral presentations and poster sessions offer the opportunity for investigators, especially younger investigators, to present their work. The program includes Hematology-in-Focus and Meet-the-Expert sessions, as well as Lunch Debates and the EHA Scientific Working Groups. Two more recent innovations, the Laboratory Hematology Workshop and the Molecular Hemopoiesis Workshop have proved very popular and exciting and will continue at the 16th Congress.

The international collaborations of EHA are reflected in the joint symposia with the American Society of Hematology and the Japanese Society of Hematology. The European and patient oriented perspective is strengthened by symposia with the European Cancer Patient Coalition and the European School of Haematology, focusing on the patient’s perspective and communication with patients.

London is one of the most exciting cities in the world! Rich in history, as well as culture, London is an ideal venue to meet colleagues and peers to discuss the newest developments in hematology. We invite you to share both the vibrant atmosphere in the congress program and the life of the city itself!
