Words of welcome

On behalf of the European Hematology Association, we take great pleasure in inviting you to attend the Association's 13th Congress in Copenhagen, June 12-15, 2008.

The EHA Congresses have become the most significant hematology meeting in Europe, offering presentations of latest research, relevant to both basic scientists and clinical scientists as well as state of the art education sessions for clinicians and hematologists in training. Oral presentations and poster sessions offer opportunities for investigators, especially younger scientists to present their work.

The program will also include Clinical-Trial-Update sessions, Hematology-in-Focus sessions and Meet-the-Expert sessions, as well as Lunch debates and EHA Scientific Working Group sessions. These are all activities that have been established as part of the EHA Congress program and are recognized by their high quality. Furthermore, the Molecular Hemopoiesis Workshop, a very successful new activity at last years meeting in Vienna, will be part of the program for the 13th Congress.

Copenhagen is a metropolis of Scandinavia. Its Latin name Hafnia, harbour, brings associations of safety, shelter and trade, that is exchange of valuables. Indeed, Copenhagen is an excellent venue for the EHA Congress with its focus on exchange of ideas, discussion of results and networking, exchange of scientific valuables, all in the friendly and safe atmosphere of the city.

The EHA and the many scientists who work to offer you the best program and excellent facilities hope that you will make this a success by attending.

We welcome you warmly to Copenhagen, June 2008.
