Meet-the-Expert sessions –Meet-the-Expert sessions are held on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9,
at 07.00 hours. In total 17 Meet-the-Expert sessions will be organized. The
number of participants is limited to 25 persons per session in order to guarantee
the opportunity of intensive interaction with leading experts in the field.
Please note that the EHA shuttle buses will run from various meeting
points (as of 06.15 hours on Friday and Saturday) to the Neue Messe
to be in time for the Meet-the-Expert sessions.
Poster PresentationsThe main goal of the poster walks is to gain a maximum benefit from the scientific work presented and to create a lively interaction between poster authors, moderators (senior experts in the field) and interested congress participants. Poster-walks will be organized during the poster sessions on Friday, June 8 (17.45-19.00 hours) and Saturday, June 9 (18.00-19.15 hours). Poster authors and moderators are requested to be present at the first poster in their poster session, at the beginning of the presentation time (17.45 hours). Snacks and drinks will be served! Equipment to enable a final check of your PowerPoint presentation is available at the Speaker Ready Room close to the registration area (see floor plan, page 264).

Only PowerPoint presentations will be accepted. To ensure that the presentations are well prepared, we strongly advise you to bring your presentation AT LEAST 3 HOURS before the start of your presentation to the Speaker Ready Room. You can bring your presentation on CD-Rom, DVD or USB memory stick. You may also bring your own laptop (just for copying your presentation onto the network). The use of your own laptop during your presentation is prohibited.
José Carreras Award / Lecture During the congress the José Carreras Award 2007 will be presented to Professor R. Bertina (University Medical Center Leiden, Leiden, The Netherlands). He will present the José Carreras honorary lecture. This lecture is entitled: “Thrombophilia: from single gene disorder to complex disease” and takes place on Friday, June 8 from 13.15-14.00 hours.
The presentation of the winners of the EHA-José Carreras Foundation Young Investigator Fellowship and EHA Fellowships 2007 takes place immediately after the official opening on Friday, June 8 from 13.00-13.15 hours.
A total of 80 travel grants have been awarded to scientists within 15 years of graduation or with less than 10 years post-doc experience and complete applications according to the mean score of abstracts.
