Language

The official language during the congress is English. All presentations are given in English.

Weather

The weather in Vienna in June is usually mild to warm. The average temperature is around 20-25°C. However, a raincoat or umbrella for occasional showers may be useful.

Electricity Supply

Electricity in Austria is supplied at 220V - 50Hz AC. The plugs have 2 round pins similar to those in many European countries.

Banking Service

The official currency in Vienna is the EURO (€). Foreign currencies can be exchanged to euros at banks, which are usually open from Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 12.30 hours and from 13.30 to 15.00 hours, on Thursday until 17.30 hours. In the Neue Messe, a cash dispenser is located in the mall between Hall A and Hall B, see floor plan on page 264. Cash dispensers can also be found at the airport and at railway stations.

Individual excursions can be booked at the excursion desk. For hotel reservations and information about Vienna, go to the hotel & city Information desk. These desks are located in the registration area and will be open at the following hours:

Shopping in Vienna

Most shops are open on weekdays from 09.00-18.00 (some until 20.00 hours on Thursday or Friday) and on Saturday from 09.00-13.00 hours. Larger shops and malls are open until 17.00 hours on Saturday. Dining out in Vienna & Tipping

Kitchens in Viennese restaurants are generally open from 18.00 until 22.00 hours. Please note that all restaurant service charges are included in the bill. If you deem the service good enough to warrant a tip, we suggest a tip of about 10%. More information for restaurant reservations is available at the Restaurant Reservations desk in the registration area.
