The former Stock Exchange of Amsterdam (1903) is nowadays known as one of the city’s most prestigious venues. The building is considered the start of modern architecture in The Netherlands. Its brick-architecture is typically Dutch and offers an amazing atmosphere in which early 20th century functionalist details are combined with almost gothic splendour. The Main Hall of the Beurs van Berlage is the largest hall in the centre of Amsterdam. In 2002 the future king of The Netherlands, Crown-prince Willem Alexander married Princess Máxima at the Beurs van Berlage. In 1694 “the 7 Provinces” was decommissioned and sold to be broken up. We will have lunch and a stroll at the former free-port Enkhuizen with lots of relics from the 17th century.
