Meet-the-Expert sessions
NEW: FOR SALE THIS YEAR, €10 PER TICKET!
Meet-the-Expert sessions are held on Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18, at 07.00 hours. In total 28 Meet-the-Expert sessions will be organized. The number of participants is limited to 25 persons per session in order to guarantee the opportunity of intensive interaction with leading experts in the field. Pre-registration for these sessions is necessary and can be done onsite at the congress. Tickets can be purchased during registration hours at the Meet-the-Expert desk in the Registration area. Meet-the-Expert tickets will be handled on a “first come, first serve” basis and the price per ticket is € 10,-. Croissants, coffee and tea will be served in the room. Please take into consideration when you want to attend a Meet-the-Expert session that public transport is not available before 07.00 hours
Please note: Some Meet-the-Experts sessions will be held in Hotel Okura Amsterdam (EHA Headquarters hotel), a 10 minute walk from the RAI Convention Centre. It will be stated clearly on your ticket when a session is organized in Hotel Okura Amsterdam.
Poster Presentations
Poster-walks
Poster-walks will be repeated this year. The main goal is to gain a maximum benefit from the scientific work presented and to create a lively interaction between poster authors, moderators (senior experts in the field) and
interested congress participants. Poster-walks will be organized during the poster sessions on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17 (17.45-19.00 hours). Poster authors, moderators and interested delegates are requested to be present at the first poster in their poster session, at the beginning of the presentation time (17.45 hours). Typical Dutch snacks and drinks will be served!
Poster area
Poster sessions will take place in the exhibition area (see floor plan, page 262).
Poster mounting
- Posters should be mounted during the indicated set-up time (see schedule below).
- Posters should be mounted with double sided tape or Velcro tape.
- Assistance and material for mounting the posters will be available from set-up time (see schedule below), at the poster desk in the poster area.
Poster viewing and presentation
- Posters will be on display in the poster area for three days and will be open for viewing during exhibition hours.
- Poster authors are requested to be present at their poster during the entire presentation time (see below) to attend the Poster-walks. During these walks, an expert in the field will discuss posters in the same
poster session, together with interested congress participants.
Removing your poster material
- Material should be removed before 14.00 hours on Sunday, June 18.
- If posters are not removed within the time for dismantling (see schedule below), your poster will be removed and destroyed by the congress organizer.

PowerPoint presentations
Only PowerPoint presentations will be accepted. To ensure that the presentations are well prepared, we strongly advise you to bring your presentation AT LEAST 3 HOURS before the start of your presentation to the Speaker Ready Room. You can bring your presentation on CD-Rom, DVD or USB memory stick. You may also bring your own laptop (just for copying your presentation onto the network). The use of your own laptop during your presentation is prohibited.
EHA Awards and Grants
José Carreras Award / Lecture
During the congress the José Carreras Award 2006 will be presented to Professor E. Gluckman (Hôpital Saint-Louis, Paris, France). She will present the José Carreras honorary lecture. This lecture is entitled: “Biology and clinical application of umbilical cord blood-derived stem cells” and takes place on Friday, June 16 from 13.15-14.00 hours.
EHA-José Carreras Young Investigator Fellowship & EHA Fellowships/Grants
The presentation of the winners of the EHA-José Carreras Foundation Young Investigator Fellowship and EHA Fellowships & Grants 2006 takes place immediately after the official opening on Friday, June 16 from 13.00-13.15 hours.
EHA Travel grants
A total of 80 travel grants has been awarded to scientists according to
the mean score of abstracts, complete applications and age (maximum age
for application is 38 years).
